First Lady Michelle Obama brought renewed energy to the NAACP today, delivering the keynote speech at the annual convention one day before the nation's largest civil rights group is expected to condemn what it calls racist elements in the Tea Party movement.
The nation's largest and oldest civil rights organization will vote on the resolution Tuesday during its annual convention in Kansas City, Mo. In addition to jobs and the economy, anti-Tea Party activism has been a large focus of the gathering, which conservative leaders say is driven solely by a political agenda.
Tea Party members have used "racial epithets," have verbally abused black members of Congress and threatened them, and protestors have engaged in "explicitly racist behavior" and "displayed signs and posters intended to degrade people of color generally and President Barack Obama specifically," according to the proposed resolution.

I feel so smart (undeservedly) because I saw more than a year ago that Michelle was an ungrateful poorly educated result of our dumbed down system. I am half Indian, half Caucasian...but I am an AMERICAN first, and NOT a racist. Those who advocate a seperation of races, or argue for or against one singular race over another, are themselves racist, and i abhor them...
I can only note that no one has litigated the black panthers for their "hate speech" and impeding a vote...those videos are reserved for 3 am in the morning, if at all...yet the Tea Partiers and Mel Gibson's rant get much better coverage by the current media...
I am from the Cree Tribe, and i am reminded of a commercial from the 1960's showing an Indian with a tear in his eye due to the waste and litter across the American landscape...I feel the same now...and if I became a Tea Party member, don't ever call me a racist to my face...many of my brother Indians will rise up to protect me.
I am also NOT a member of the Tea Party, but I know and understand what they stand for...yes, they are striking for a more conservative outlook, only because they see our nation going to the toilet financially...it started under the second Bush years, but you know by whom? (everyone forgets this, I am so amazed) by the Democratic majority in Congress, who voted for and financed the troubles we are in now...
Bush did not have the stamina to veto most everything that came his way, and he thus obtained the moniker of most liberal president...nor did he put institutions in place to administer and oversee TARP, etc.
Now we come to today...Americans are just plain tired of all their income being taxed (up to 70% in most cases, such as property--personal and real estate; income, sales; gasoline; and other sundry taxes or--excuse me--"fees"). It doesn't matter WHO the president is in this term, it is this CONGRESS that is doing this at this president's budget bidding.
Tea Party is not racist, it's just that the majority of their members that you see and hear on a focused media are white. I was taught by great parents to save and be responsible with my weekly stipend...I cannopt understand why this Congress seeks to spend more and more...that is the message that THIS Congress is sending--yet Congressional members don't get it at all, and THAT is the reason why it is anticipated that most representatives and senators will be losing in November.
Most Americans are just plain tired of seeing a Congress tally up all these expenditures with no end in sight, yet with no current accountability...it's all to be paid for in the future--that is this president's (I can't even use a capital "p") budget gift to our children and grandchildren...
Remember, nothing starts to take effect until 2012 and beyond, when these folks are out of office, and that's what worries people today!
All Tea Partiers are saying is don't spend money we don't have...the economy is NOT turning around as they would have you believe...summer and temporary (can you say, "road construction") jobs will end soon, people are off the unemployment rolls and yet still can't get a job, because corporations and small businesses aren't hiring, because they can't get a loan--and are also fearful about the "future" effects of prospective health, cap & trade, and non-sensical financial bills (which haven't been read or discussed in their entirety by a lazy Congress) being passed by Congress (with new taxes coming in late November/December of THIS year), and are therefore reducing their workforce and inventory, thereby starting a secondary unemployment cycle all over again...
Rather than term limits, I might suggest that Congressional members obtain a pension only after they serve a minimum of 4 full terms in Congress (if they go that far)...much like the rest of us and our pensions. If they don't, then they suffer the consequences of having to look for a job without getting a lifelong pension from day one...betcha no one would run for office just looking for a long term kiss in the mail...they would have to work hard to earn that pension from the American people.
THIS November's election will have the consequences of being that much MORE important than the simple majority (not a mandate!!) vote that occurred in 2008.
Tea Partiers are now saying "yes we can--and will!" The Tea Party didn't grow in the Bush years, only happened in last two years--yeah, they had no reason to startup, ya think??

Don't let these stoneage era blacks that still have their feet in the 1960s upset you. Take it from me, a man with a multi-cultural background (I sport registered Apache-Native American, Portuguese, Spaniard, and even some Asian blood) who grew up hearing things like "No-Injuns Allowed in the 50s and early 60s, but later in his life was raised by a white village (city) of WWII vets and Korean Vets, and they never saw his color. Why, because 80 percent of America is not racist, and since I am a welcomed and praised Tea Party Member, I know our Tea Party is not racist, but is so strong a movement that the Democrats are trying anything to label us, just like the lost souls that tried to label my greatgrandfather and savage. We are America and we are the Tea Party, and don't let any of these lost 1960s wanna be Panthers tell you any different. God Bless America and God Bless the Tea Party. Vote them out in 2010 and 2012.
